3 Ghost Friends

THREE GHOST FRIENDS was inspired by my youngest son. In 2011, he was sixteen months old and loved to ride in the stroller to find Halloween decorations around the neighborhood. We kept his Halloween spirit alive after the holiday by reading books together. One of his favorite Halloween books was Skeleton Hiccups by Margery Cuyler. In the book, Ghost tries to cure Skeleton's persistent hiccups. My son loved the ghost in this book! He would ask me to draw ghosts for him all the time. I would ask him, "Happy ghost or mean ghost?" Almost always he wanted me to draw him a happy ghost.

In 2012, I wrote a story for him about the "happy" ghosts and called it THREE GHOST FRIENDS: LEARN ABOUT COLORS. I made the story into an eBook so I could read it to him on the iPad. I decided to upload the eBook to iTunes thinking others might enjoy the story, too. Honestly, I was surprised when I sold copies of the eBook. I was even more surprised when friends sent me photos of their children reading the eBook. To make a long story short, I created four THREE GHOST FRIENDS eBooks and was asked by family and friends to make the books available in paperback.

There wouldn't be THREE GHOST FRIENDS without this guy!

During the last two years, I visited many classrooms to read THREE GHOST FRIENDS. I was continually amazed that the children got excited when I read my books. After each school visit, I told myself that I needed to create another THREE GHOST FRIENDS book. In 2015, I created THREE GHOST FRIENDS AND THE BATTLE BOOS for all those children who told me that they liked my books and shared with me their own Three Ghost Friends adventures (especially the students at Miller Elementary School and Craddock Elementary School in Aurora, Ohio).
